Arctic Region !!!

What is the Arctic Region?


The Arctic Region in northern Canada is a combination of lowlands and mountains!Questions (You have 7 questions in total!)



1. Find a map that shows you the Arctic Region in Canada. Explain what you see in 3-5 sentences.


I saw this map of Arctic region was very big.And I saw many sea surround this region. I hope this region are prefect.
2. Find a picture of the Arctic region you like or don't like. Explain what you see in 5 sentences!

I saw polar bear on the ice. I think this region have many animal live there. Even though there not have long winter time.but I like there animal.


3. The Arctic region's climate has long, cold winters and short, cool summers! There is very little precipitation in this region. What would your life be like if you lived here? Explain in 5-8 sentences.

YES!!!

Because this region winter time was very short, and and very cool summers. I like this kind of place. so I will buy house from this region. also I will like there precipitation because I like the snow. so I like there!

Tundra is one of the large flat areas of land in the north of Europe, Asia, and America. The ground below the top layer of soil is always frozen and no trees grow there.

Western Cordillera Part 2

Western Cordilleran vegetation varies enormously from one side of a mountain to another. Some sides of a mountain get a lot of water and some don't!It is called the rain-shadow effect!Did you know?
On the most, windward slopes of the mountain. There are trees like the Douglas Fir, western hemlock, and western red cedar. Questions (There are 8 questions today!)

No, I didn't saw this tree befor.




2. How can you remember what this tree looks like and it's name?
I just put this tree picture in to the important place, and every day to look at it.

The Western Cordillera !

We have learned about the Canadian Shield region, we are now going to take a look at another region. The next region is The Western Cordillera.Questions (There are 7 Questions)Please answer the questions with the number of sentences I tell you to. This is important because you need to practice your English.
1. Find a photograph of the Western Cordillera Region. Post it.

2. Find a map of The Western Cordillera region.Explain what you see in the map in 3-5 sentences.

I saw many region in Canada.Canada have 7 region,I think theses region was very important to Canada.I see the very big region of Canada is Interior plains, it my favortie region.
This region has range after range of mountains, separated by plateaus and valleys. The Rocky Mountains are the most easterly range of mountains in this region.
3. Find picture you like of the Rocky Mountains.Explain why you like it in 5-8 sentences.
Because this picture can give very helpful place.There have snow mountain, forest, and river. So if i can draw a picture, i will choose this one to draw it.and i will get more money because this picture was very special for my eyes.

Today I learn new region of Canada -The Western Cordillera.I like this region because it was big and have many different kind of mountain.This region was from yukon territory , and this region weather I think was a little bit cold.Some of mountain have many rock, so that part I don't like. But I don't want to live in this region

The Canadian Shield !!

The next geographical region you will learn about is the Canadian Shield. This lesson should be finished in two computer classes.The Canadian Shield is more than 2 billion years old. It consists of great volcanic mountains that were leveled by millions of years of erosion. It is the geographic foundation of Canada covering more than half of its surface area.
1.Find a map of this region. Which provinces are in this region? (IF you don't know what your map is telling you, DO NOT WRITE I DON'T KNOW! ASK me or a friend!)
In Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba,Northwest territories are in Canada shield.
2. Translate erosion. What is erosion? Explain in your own words.The climate of this region varies greatly. There are colder winters in the north.
erosion:侵蚀
English meaning: erosion to destroy the place, and make this place bad.
3. Why do you think the climate of this region will vary? Explain in 3-5 sentences. Look at the map of this region and think about it.
I think this place climate was very different to other provinces. Because I hear some one say these provinces in summer time was very hot, at winter time the weather will very cold.so it was different.

4. The vegetation of this region is mostly Boreas forest. What is special about a Boreas forest? Explain in 3-5 sentences.
Because I think that part of region can grow many vegetation .This region weather was very good to grow vegetation. so it was very special.

Because this picture was very beautiful. and there have river valley. and also there have many tree surround the valley.
6.There is a lot of mining in this area. The Canadian shield is sometimes called a "mineral storehouse" because it has a lot of valuable minerals like lead, copper, gold, zinc and nickel.

I don' t know China have how many region, but i know China have many wonderful region. Because China have these region can make China envioment to be good. so I hope theses rgion can make more.

This picture from China Hangzhou. I been to this place befor. It is very famos in China because they have story of love, but is very sad for me.

Climate Continued!

After learning about the topography of this region, we are going to look at the climate and vegetation of this region.The climate of the Interior Plains is a continental climate. This means the temperature of this region is affected by this region's location in the heart or center of the continent.Since this region is in the center of the continent, it is far from the ocean. The ocean helps to keep a moderate climate. Without it, this region has a climate of extremes. It has long, hot summers and cold winters.

Because sky was very blue, bule is my farvotie color.There are forests behind the ocean. and also the ocean water are very clean.

Because it is very big ocean, i think this ocean was not very clean.but it is only one are good. so i choose this one.

Because I think ocean can make temperature goes down. every people like to living near the ocean. and alsothe air are better than city.

The Interior Plains is a vast physiographic region that spreads across the Laurentian craton of North America.The Interior plains region of the United States and Canada falls within this area.

Today I learn Pacific Ocean and Atlantic Ocean.These ocean are very near Canada, so it is very important to Canada.
