Arctic Region !!!

What is the Arctic Region?


The Arctic Region in northern Canada is a combination of lowlands and mountains!Questions (You have 7 questions in total!)

I saw this map of Arctic region was very big.And I saw many sea surround this region. I hope this region are prefect.

I saw polar bear on the ice. I think this region have many animal live there. Even though there not have long winter time.but I like there animal.

Western Cordillera Part 2

Western Cordilleran vegetation varies enormously from one side of a mountain to another. Some sides of a mountain get a lot of water and some don't!It is called the rain-shadow effect!Did you know?
On the most, windward slopes of the mountain. There are trees like the Douglas Fir, western hemlock, and western red cedar. Questions (There are 8 questions today!)

The Western Cordillera !

We have learned about the Canadian Shield region, we are now going to take a look at another region. The next region is The Western Cordillera.Questions (There are 7 Questions)Please answer the questions with the number of sentences I tell you to. I saw many region in Canada.Canada have 7 region,I think theses region was very important to Canada.I see the very big region of Canada is Interior plains, it my favortie region.
This region has range after range of mountains, separated by plateaus and valleys. The Rocky Mountains are the most easterly range of mountains in this region.

Because this picture can give very helpful place.There have snow mountain, forest, and river. So if i can draw a picture, i will choose this one to draw it.and i will get more money because this picture was very special for my eyes.

The Canadian Shield !!

The next geographical region you will learn about is the Canadian Shield. This lesson should be finished in two computer classes.The Canadian Shield is more than 2 billion years old. It consists of great volcanic mountains that were leveled by millions of years of erosion. It is the geographic foundation of Canada covering more than half of its surface area.
1.Find a map of this region. Which provinces are in this region? (IF you don't know what your map is telling you, DO NOT WRITE I DON'T KNOW! ASK me or a friend!)
In Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba,Northwest territories are in Canada shield.
2. Translate erosion. What is erosion? Explain in your own words.The climate of this region varies greatly. There are colder winters in the north.

English meaning: erosion to destroy the place, and make this place bad.
3. Why do you think the climate of this region will vary? Explain in 3-5 sentences. Look at the map of this region and think about it.
I think this place climate was very different to other provinces. Because I hear some one say these provinces in summer time was very hot, at winter time the weather will very cold.so it was different.

Because I think that part of region can grow many vegetation .This region weather was very good to grow vegetation. so it was very special.

Climate Continued!

After learning about the topography of this region, we are going to look at the climate and vegetation of this region.The climate of the Interior Plains is a continental climate. This means the temperature of this region is affected by this region's location in the heart or center of the continent.Since this region is in the center of the continent, it is far from the ocean. The ocean helps to keep a moderate climate. Without it, this region has a climate of extremes. It has long, hot summers and cold winters.

The Interior Plains - Topography

The Plains region is in between the Cordillera and the Great Canadian Shield. It is found in the Yukon, Northwest Territories, British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Sometimes, people make the mistake of calling the Plains the Prairie Provinces or just the Prairies. The term prairie refers to the prairie grasses that grow wild in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. The Interior Plains landscape includes much more than just the prairie grasslands.

these picture so beautiful, I think this region have many ocean. so this region was very important to Canada. Today i know Canada why has many people want to came.but this region was not very big i think, but it is popular to people. i choose these picture because i like the beach.I hope one day i can go there.
You'll find that this entire region is generally flat in elevation. In fact there are 3 flat levels of elevation and each level is lower as you move to the east. If you can picture 3 steps on stairs that descend, then you sort of get what it looks like. Furthermore, found within these 3 levels of flat elevation , you may find hills, escarpments (cliffs), low mountains, forests, wide river valleys and there are even sand dunes! This area of Canada obviously has a lot to offer Canadians and tourists.

The human population tends to be greater in the southern region of the plains, but you'll also notice that town and cities generally are beside a water source like a lake or river. The Plains truly rely upon water, for the region's climate is generally dry. Water not only helps irrigate crops and livestock but it is also a source of transportation for our products, supplies, goods and services. In the past, these water routes were also major fur trading routes. These waterways also act as areas of recreation, tourism, as well, as resources like hydro-electricity for Canadians.

I see long and big bright, it is very beatiful nightscape.And i see very cleanning river, behind the river is small buiding and bacrk forest. i like there.

The St. Lawrence River of Canada very near Atlantic ocean, and also near Quebec, New Brunswick,Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador these provinces.

The Great Lakes - St. Lawrence Lowland Continued... !!!

This Region's Climate
The climate is essentially a humid continental climate.It is humid because of the presence of the Great Lakes. The Great Lakes tend to cool the temperature during the summer. By storing heat, the Great Lakes warm the surrounding areas in winter. Winters vary from cool to cold, and summers from warm to hot.
